In the midst of apocalyptic, muddy trench warfare, ASHE, a young soldier completely lost, is haunted day and night by ARIMA, a half-man, half-rat creature. A glimmer of hope emerges during a nocturnal long-distance exchange with NOAH, a soldier from the opposing trench. Fascinated, Ashe ends up seeing him everywhere, with only one fear: to lose him before meeting him. The following night, they meet in no-man's-land, while an assault is underway and the creature is still on the prowl. Their encounter gives way to a passionate embrace of flesh, mud and blood.
